Town Supervisor Jared Simpson of Canandaigua, New York was inspired to run for office after working on his father's town supervisor campaign. His favorite part of his job is solving problems and feeling energized by connecting with people.

The biggest lesson that he has learned during his time in office is the importance of having thick skin. One thing Simpson wishes people knew about his job is that legislators are juggling their constituents' priorities within the constraints of New York's rules and the laws.

Three words Simpson would say capture his town are "growing, fun, and football." One of his hobbies is woodworking.
