State Assemblymember James Gary Pretlow (NY-89) was inspired to run for office out of a desire to help his community. He enjoys meeting all types of people and working on solving everyday issues. 

Pretlow's top legislative priority for the upcoming year is ensuring licenses for downstate casinos to build state revenue. 

The elected official Pretlow would most like to have lunch with is former President Barack Obama. He is currently reading a novel by Tom Clancy, his favorite author.
