We are talking about revitalization efforts in our upstate communities this weekend on In Focus.

JoDee Kenney sits down with Ginnie Farrell, Albany Common Council majority leader, who became a member of the city’s school board before considering a run for council. Farrell said when it comes to funding, Albany does seek grant money, but state aid is critical, especially given the number of state agencies and government buildings located in the city. Among the priorities, Farrell said, are not only infrastructure projects, but growing the opportunity for people to come into the city and spend money at area businesses. Farrell also talked about the future of the former College of St. Rose campus, which she said is integrated in the neighborhood and will hopefully see development that maintains its current character.

You can watch the full interview with Farrell above. And be sure to tune in for a look inside the biggest issues impacting upstate New York, on In Focus with JoDee Kenney — every Sunday on Spectrum News 1.
