This weekend on In Focus, we open a conversation on preparing and responding to extreme weather events across upstate New York.
JoDee Kenney sat down with Nick Bassill, director of the State Weather Risk Communication Center on the University at Albany campus. Meteorologists at the SWRCC, Bassill said, take weather data from sources including New York’s Mesonet and create tailored briefings for state agencies and local emergency managers.
JoDee also spoke with Lewis County Manager Timothy Hunt, who said he draws on his experience as highway supervisor as he works to ensure the county can weather any storm.
You can watch the full interviews above. And be sure to tune in for a look inside the biggest issues impacting upstate New York, on In Focus with JoDee Kenney — every Sunday on Spectrum News 1.
