This weekend on In Focus, we open a conversation on preparing and responding to extreme weather events across upstate New York.

JoDee Kenney spoke with Lewis County Manager Timothy Hunt, who said he draws on his experience as highway supervisor as he works to ensure the county can weather any storm. In addition to lake-effect snow, Lewis County has dealt with major flooding in recent years. Having adequate snowplow and other equipment on hand is just one aspect of planning, but Hunt said fostering response partnerships with the state and neighboring counties, as well as investing in more resilient infrastructure pays dividends down the road.

You can watch the full interview with Hunt above. And be sure to tune in for a look inside the biggest issues impacting upstate New York, on In Focus with JoDee Kenney — every Sunday on Spectrum News 1.
