The impact community centers have on neighborhoods across Upstate New York is at the center of our conversation this weekend on In Focus.

JoDee Kenney speaks with Jetaun Jones, executive director of Friends Inc., at Dorothy J. Collier Community Center in Buffalo. Jones said the center brings seniors together each day to share a meal, as well as conversation that builds bonds within the community. In addition, Jones said, various programs provide education and enhance senior wellness. Jones also spoke about the after-school programs and the impact they have on young people in the city. Several seniors, Jones pointed out, volunteer after school, allowing for unique intergenerational interactions benefiting every age group.
