As Hispanic Heritage Month gets underway, we are talking about the contributions of the diverse communities of upstate New York this weekend on In Focus.

JoDee Kenney welcomed Juan Luis Lopez Fons, New York Capital Region Hispanic Chamber of Commerce vice president, to discuss the organization’s mission to support and grow Hispanic business ownership in the area. Lopez Fons also spoke about the chamber’s commitment to provide scholarship funding to advance the next generation of entrepreneurs, as well as promote the contribution of Latinas in business. There are benefits for Hispanic business owners to join the Chamber of Commerce, Lopez Fons said, including difficulty increasing their visibility in the community and overcoming language barriers.
