This week on In Focus, Troy Mayor Carmella Mantello sat down with JoDee Kenney to discuss efforts to make her city safer.
Mantello says part of that comes from building trust between the community and police. Through relationship building, Mantello says she hopes residents have trust in their police and safety officials to report a crime or illegal activity.
This also aims to help local businesses thrive, Mantello said, as people and workers will feel safe shopping, eating or going to work.
