Monroe County has put together an eclipse public awareness campaign so the community has all the resources they need to enjoy the total solar eclipse on April 8 while staying safe, all while knowing where events are, where to get glasses, what the safety plan is, and more.

Emergency operations representatives are prepared to respond as needed, which includes planning exercises with 65 different agencies in Monroe County, who may need to step up on Eclipse Day.

Monroe County Executive Adam Bello says that the local economic impact will be huge as hotels and lodging are almost entirely booked throughout the region. Restaurants are also ready for bigger crowds and small business owners are looking forward to it after a few tough years during COVID.
