We are talking about affordable housing across Upstate this weekend on In Focus. Binghamton Mayor Jared Kraham, joined JoDee Kenney to discuss the situation in his city and efforts to expand access. The city recently signed on to the “Pro-Housing Community Program”, which will allow eligible municipalities to qualify for a part of $650 million in funding for housing growth. Mayor Kraham also highlighted expanded grant programs, particularly for downtown cities, laid out in Gov. Kathy Hochul’s State of the State Address. The mayor said Binghamton is ready to expedite development plans, and welcomed higher-density housing that he said can help revitalize downtown.
