We are talking about the economic impact of the Saratoga Race Course this weekend on In Focus. Saratoga Springs Mayor Ron Kim took a walk with JoDee Kenney, through a bustling downtown, where tourism is a major driver for local businesses. The city of 28,000 swells to more than 100,000 during the summer meet, and Kim credits the entire community, from business owners to public works and public safety departments, for getting Saratoga Springs ready for visitors. Mayor Kim said there’s plenty to do in the Spa City, year-round, in a walkable downtown dotted with restaurants and boutiques. Kim said he has an eye on the future, attracting new generations of residents and visitors, while keeping the city grounded in its tradition of “health, history, horses.”
