This weekend on In Focus, we’re giving you a look at the various summer happenings in our Upstate regions. Canandaigua Mayor Bob Palumbo sat down with JoDee Kenney to talk about what the city on the lake, just a half-hour drive from Rochester, offers visitors. Palumbo said Canandaigua’s history is evident to visitors, no matter from which direction they are heading in. In addition to the picturesque lake shore and walkable downtown, the mayor said a full slate of summer concerts is on tap at nearby CMAC, including Duran Duran and Santana. He highlighted the opening of Hotel Canandaigua, situated on the lake and right in the middle of everything the city has to offer. Palumbo also touted the state of downtown businesses, citing a high occupancy rate and year-round patronage from area residents.
