Irish-American Heritage Month opens our conversation this weekend on In Focus. Syracuse Common Councilor Patrick Hogan joins JoDee Kenney to discuss the revival of the city’s Tipp Hill Neighborhood. A traditionally Irish corner of the Salt City, Hogan says Tipp Hill is a diverse community with a nod to its roots. You don’t have to look much farther than the upside-down traffic light at Tompkins Street and Milton Avenue. This neighborhood on the city’s west side is now home to a vibrant community center, and Hogan said sidewalk and other improvements are making Tipp Hill a desirable place to live. He highlighted Syracuse’s St. Patrick’s Parade and the energy it brings, as tens of thousands of people pack the parade route each year.
