The need is constant when it comes to blood donations — but just how is that blood used, and how much of it is needed? What do the different blood types mean, and should I donate more or less because of mine? Those are just a couple of the questions on the table for this episode of In Focus, as Kevin Coffey of the Eastern New York chapter of the American Red Cross sits down with JoDee Kenney. Coffey discusses the ins and outs of giving blood and talks about some of the restrictions on who can donate — including some more controversial restrictions that have resulted in certain demographics being excluded from donating — and how the Red Cross is working to make donations more accessible.
