It wouldn’t be the Super Bowl without puppies.

Like the big game, the annual Puppy Bowl is coming to your screens this Sunday. An animal shelter from Utica is being represented. For the second year in a row, House of Paws in Utica is joining the Puppy Bowl, and they are represented by two sweet puppies — Dazzle and Rob Gronchowski, also known as Moo.

Dazzle is a hound mix and Moo is a terrier mix. It took a full day for them to travel to Glens Falls and shoot the TV special from 8:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. The process included COVID-19 tests and vet checks. House of Paws opened recently, so they’re happy to be represented in the bowl so more people can learn about the shelter.

"In the two years we’ve been here, almost two years — we adopt out 400 dogs. So we’re looking for, hopefully, the Puppy Bowl will bring in more, so we can find them their forever homes," said Jennifer Vohwinkel, president of House of Paws.

Unfortunately, you can’t bring home Moo or Dazzle. They’ve already been adopted and are happily in homes in Rochester and Little Falls. But there are a lot of dogs waiting to be adopted at House of Paws right now. They can house around 20 dogs at a time, all of different sizes, ages and breeds. In a couple months, there will be some puppies ready to be adopted.

You can catch the Puppy Bowl on Animal Planet this Sunday at 2 p.m.
