There’s a simple way you can help your neighbors this holiday season. And all you need are some shoes.

An annual Syracuse shoe drive is in its 11th year.

Discount Shoe Repair owner Ralph Rotella is responsible for the charitable event. Last year was a record setter, with more than 23,000 pairs donated. He said this year is on track to break last year’s record.

The shoes collected are donated to the rescue mission.

Shoes can be donated anytime between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. The last day to drop off shoes at Ralph’s shop on 114 East Washington Street is Wednesday, Dec. 15.
