Snowmobiling is a favorite winter pastime in New York.

Families in Clay on Saturday morning got in the tow on the back of a snowmobile and took a ride through the winter woods.

“Get to see the smiles on their faces, I’ve actually had parents go out and buy snowmobiles after they’ve brought their children to this event because it’s a great opportunity and they didn’t realize their kids would enjoy it so much,” said Rob Bick, who helps organize the annual event. “And this is something that a lot of people in general don’t do because they kind of hide from winter. Children with special needs get less of opportunities to do normal things. It's a great opportunity for them to do wonderful things, normal things, have the families come out.”

Nicholas King is one kid that’s been coming since he was five.

“I like snowmobiling, because it's so fun,” said King, “I like the woods, and nature.”

The annual ride is free for families with special needs.
