As Syracuse Students prepare to transition back into the classroom, Monday, the Boys & Girls Club is making sure they are ready for their big day back.

It invited families to their backpack drive, which included more than school supplies and backpacks.

Thanks to donations, they also provided clothing, sanitary products, and haircuts to local students.

The executive director says they’re trying to fill in the gap during a difficult time, and prepare students physically and mentally

"To be clean, especially now during a pandemic is really important, and we know that a lot of people right now, some people have been out of work," said executive director of the Boys & Girls Club of Syracuse Jeff Eysaman. "It’s just been a tough time for a lot of people

So for us to be able to get this into the hands of people who need it is everything to us"

Organizers say they want their students to be excited about going back to school, and hope new clothes, backpacks, and a haircut will help.
