Avian flu has been detected at a farm in Madison County.

The county health department says it was notified about a positive case of bird flu in a backyard poultry flock that housed roughly 15 ducks and geese.

Per state recommendations, remaining birds will be euthanized to prevent further spread.

Only the owners had contact with the birds, and they will be monitored for any symptoms by the health department.
