Jobs in the nursing field continue to be in high demand. That's mainly why it was important for one local nursing school to move into a facility where it can offer the best education for future students.
The Pomeroy College of Nursing at Crouse Hospital is now located in the Crouse Medical Building on Brittonfield Parkway in East Syracuse. The new facility includes state of the art classrooms and study space, along with simulation labs for hands-on learning.
Students moved into the new building a few months ago. They say they were excited to use the facility, which should help Crouse continue to prepare future nurses in the medical field.
"They have two very well-functioning sim labs, both very educational. Both with very up to date stuff that we haven't had before. As well as just the classrooms now. The classrooms are definitely fit for the bigger student classes," said graduate nurse Matthew Baldigo.
The college was in the Marley Education Building on the SU hill for about 30 years. Crouse sold that building to Syracuse University a few months ago.
The college will hold its 108th commencement ceremonies this Thursday.
