More than 100,000 New Yorkers are at risk of losing Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits, or SNAP.

A new rule from the Trump administration would require more low income recipients to work to receive benefits. Experts say that if you might be impacted, it’s best to talk to a professional to understand the changes.

"So the most important thing for people who receive SNAP should know is that they should keep in touch with their county caseworker and understand exactly what they're required to do," said Sherry Tomasky, the director of communications for Hunger Solutions New York.
