Crews are getting to work on the Oswego Health Behavioral Health facility.

The project is about a year in the making with the anticipation that construction will be done by the end of October.

Before being officially open, the team will need another 60 days to get approval from the Department of Health and the Office of Mental Health.

The construction teams said the air filtration unit is appropriate to deal with COVID-19 concerns.

“Compared to where we’ve currently been, it’s been a little tired," said Jody Pittslay, associate administrator for the Oswego Health Behavioral Health Facility. "Just knowing it’s a warm area and we’re part of the community. It’s something we waited for for a long time."

The facility is 42,000 square feet.

The total cost of the project is $17 million.
