Families with students in the Syracuse City School District will be adjusting their schedules as new start and dismissal times go into effect Monday morning.
This comes as First Student, which provides transportation services for the district, is currently going through a bus driver shortage, despite attempts to bolster their ranks by offering increased wages and sign-on bonuses.
A number of schools will start the day at 7:45 a.m. and end at 2 p.m.
Those include Brighton Academy, Clary Middle School, Expeditionary Learning ELMS, and Grant Middle School.
There are two more schools that will start at 7:45 p.m., they are Lincoln Middle School and STEM at Blodgett.
This next group will begin the day at 8 a.m. and go until 2 p.m. These include Franklin Elementary School, STEAM at Dr. King and Syracuse Latin pre-K through eighth grade.
And this final group of schools will start at 9 a.m. and end their day at 3 p.m.
These include Ed Smith kindergarten through eighth grade, Frazer pre-K through eighth grade, Huntington kindergarten through eighth grade, H.W. Smith kindergarten through eighth grade, and Roberts kindergarten through eighth grade.
At this point, parents within the Syracuse City School District should have received updated bussing information from the district.
