A Rochester man is charged with attempted murder in connection with a shooting in Utica last week.

Officers were called to the intersection of South Street and Kossuth Avenue around 10:15 p.m. Friday.

When they arrived, they found 38-year-old Jonathan Hines with multiple gunshot wounds.

Hines remains in critical condition.

Brandell Watkins, 35, was found in Rochester and will be taken back to Utica. 

He's been charged with second-degree attempted murder, weapons possession and criminal use of a firearm.

Additional charges are possible.
