ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Live music and entertainment is returning at a popular bar and venue on Monroe Avenue.
The Bug Jar is reopening this weekend.
The bar had been struggling to stay open even before the pandemic.
Owner Aaron Gibalski says the bar didn't see a dollar of the federal COVID-19 funds that went to struggling businesses.
Instead, the Bug Jar made it through with the community's help.
"Couldn't have done it without the public support," Gibalski said. "That was first and foremost. We wouldn't even be standing here today without that help."
The Bug Jar has been operating in Rochester for more than 30 years.
The return to live music starts this Friday at 8 p.m.
