Yonkers native Nick Reisman has called New York State his home his entire life. In 2004, Nick made the move a few hours north to the Capital Region and hasn’t looked back since. Nick considers the city of Albany a wonderfully walkable one – so, as a resident for nearly two decades, his advice is meaningful when he says that the Center Square neighborhood is the place to be on a beautiful day.

As a Capital Region political reporter, Nick loves knowing that, each day he comes to work, there will always be something new and important to share with his viewers. News is about the unexpected, and Nick takes pride in being able to break that unexpected down into digestible and understandable stories for the members of his community. Through the many stories Nick has covered, his coverage of the legalization of same-sex marriage in New York in 2011 has become one his most memorable experiences. The month leading up to the final decision was full of tremendous work and increasingly long days. However, witnessing history right in front of his own eyes made all of those hours worth it.

When Nick isn’t covering the top political stories to hit the Capital, you can find him relaxing at home with his cat, Penny, or enjoying one of the many diverse cuisine options in Albany. When the warmer weather hits, it’s also a safe bet that you can find him somewhere outdoors, usually training for his next marathon.
