A 152-year-old private historic hunting and fishing camp in the Adirondacks, is up for preservation or removal by the state.
The Gooley Club has existed on rented land since 1866, but the state bought that land in 2012, coupling it into a portion of the park designated forever wild--meaning no man made structures are allowed--and plans to either remove or demolish the camp's buildings are under debate.
It's tough because the buildings were added to the State's and National Register of Historic Places this year, although that doesn't automatically designate protection.
Donald MacElroy is the Vice President of the Gooley Club and is here to explain the matter further.
