This weekend lawmakers from the Black and Puerto Rican caucus meet for their annual conference. The caucus has historically been a powerful one in the state legislature where people of color make up a significant portion of the Assembly Majority. Their goal is to develop ways to advance the lives of people of color who are disproportionately affected by issues like poverty and education reform. But this weekend they will celebrate the progress they have already made while looking forward to the future. The Association Chair Michele Titus, an Assemblywoman from Queens, joins us to discuss.
