Summer is winding down, which means students have their sights set on that first day of school. Some college students are already settling into their dorm rooms.

The National Retail Federation is expecting college students and their families, on average, to spend nearly $1,400 on clothing, furniture, electronics and school supplies.

The University at Albany welcomed its first flock of students Monday. In total, UAlbany is welcoming more than 2,800 first-year students from 23 states and 33 countries this fall.
