SPECTRUM NEWS VIDEO: What started as a volunteer opportunity quickly took over their life. Jill and Robert Lewis opened up their home to about 100 different parrots that were surrended by their owners.

Since most large parrots can live upwards of 100 years, they outlive the people who adopt them, and need a second home and sometimes a third.

Northeast Avian Rescue takes in birds and helps get them adopted. They are the only such rescue in the area.

Jill and Robert are looking to build a dedicated facility and need help. Please visit their website to learn more.
