The two-year wait to officially crown Section II high school sports champions ended on Monday night for two teams.

The Bethlehem and Queensbury girls lacrosse teams got it done in their respective classes. Bethlehem held on for a 6-5 win over Shenendehowa, and Queensbury pulled away for a 17-11 win over Burnt Hills.

It’s Bethlehem’s second straight crown, and the third in a row for Queensbury. Both teams remembered their 2020 senior classes, which didn’t have the opportunity to win championships due to COVID-19-related cancellations.

Tuesday will see 13 more sectional championships won in baseball, softball, and boys and girls lacrosse.
