When you first glance at Albany Academy's girls golf team, you'll notice a lot of underclassmen leading the way, spearheaded by freshman Kennedy Swedick.

What You Need To Know

  • Kennedy Swedick, as a freshman at Albany Academy, is already one of the team leaders

  • Swedick is a force on the golf course and has played in various national tournaments

  • But Swedick is just one name to know on the Albany Academy girls golf team

Swedick is quickly making a name for herself on the golf course, and so are her fellow teammates.

"We have a very great group of girls on our team," Swedick said. "They're all talented and we all work hard."

"It's a great experience that bonds us all together," sophomore Nicole Criscone said of playing on the team.

Swedick has played in numerous national tournaments. That has given her valuable experience for Albany Academy, but her teammates are just as good.

Many of them have also participated in national tournaments; some even played against Swedick. She says her opponents in some of these tournaments are stunned when they hear how old she is.

Swedick wasn't able to get out this summer due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but she hopes to get back on the national stage again next summer.
