It was a shot at Class B glory for the Glens Falls High School football team — and they didn't miss the opportunity.

Matching up against Batavia inside Syracuse's Carrier Dome, Glens Falls took home the championship, 55-32.

It's their second title victory in just three years. They won in 2016, and made it to the semifinal last year.

For these players and head coach Pat Lilac, the experience was the difference in this weekend's championship win.

"We've been in this spot before; we've been in big games. It's just unbelievable. I'm at a loss for words, I've lost my voice from screaming so much. I couldn't ask to go out with a better group of guys my senior year,” said linebacker Kyle Vachon.

"I think it means a lot that they just overcame so much, and they kept battling and stayed together. Some other teams might have crumbled with the adversity they faced. It's just really special,” said Lilac.

The win is likely not going to be the last at the Carrier Dome for Glens Falls's quarterback: Two-sport star Joe Girard III will be there playing basketball for the Syracuse Orange next season.
