Matt Hunter was raised in Clifton Park. Prior to joining the Spectrum News Capital Region team in 2009.

Today, Matt contributes to the newsroom as an integral member of the Capital Region’s cutting-edge reporting. With coverage ranging from Glens Falls native Jimmer Fredette's run through the 2011 NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament, to the Dannemora prison break and Triple Crown winner American Pharoah's run in the 2015 Travers Stakes, it’s safe to say that Matt has no shortage of memorable stories under his belt.

Matt is a proud Capital Region resident. With the perfect mix of the great outdoors, urban living, and, as a Manhattan College graduate, the close proximity to New York City, what’s not to love? When asked to describe the city of Albany, Matt uses three words: historic, emerging, and inviting.
