Saturday marks the International Day of Persons with Disabilities.

It was created by the United Nations in 2019 as a way to promote disability inclusion at all levels. It's also a day for those with disabilities to feel empowered about their choices, especially when it comes to home care.

Melissa Groves, Consumer Directed Choices compliance manager, joins Spectrum News 1 to discuss how a person can take control of their own care, the benefits of home care workers, how to get access to one, eligibility, when home care is more beneficial than an assisted living facility and more.
