An Albany County man is charged with stealing nearly $1 million from an Albany-based club, including cash from an account dedicated to supporting St. Jude's Hospital, Albany police said Thursday.

Kenneth Frodyma, 38, of Feura Bush, a member of the Polish American Citizens Club, was arrested Thursday following an investigation by detectives in the Albany Police Department Criminal Investigation Unit, police said.

Frodyma stole in excess of $900,000 between Sept. 1, 2019, and Dec. 31, 2021, authorities said. He allegedly took the cash for his personal use.

Serving as the organization’s financial secretary, Frodyma made withdrawals from four separate accounts belonging to the organization, including a dedicated account used to raise funds and provide an annual donation to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, police said.

Frodyma was arraigned Thursday in Albany City Court and charged with second-degree grand larceny, police said. He was released pending a new court date.
