Bethlehem police are seeking the public's assistance in locating Meghan A. Marohn, a missing 42-year-old woman from Delmar.

Marohn has not been seen since Saturday, when she traveled to Stockbridge, Massachusetts, police said Wednesday. Her vehicle was located unattended at Long Cope Park Hiking Trails, according to authorities.

The Massachusetts State Police said Thursday that due to "newly developed information," a search was underway in south Lee, Mass., in connection with Marohn's disappearance. The location, MSP said, is approximately a half-mile from Marohn's vehicle. An update was expected later Thursday.

Marohn is an English teacher at Shaker High School and a valued member of the North Colonie school community, Shaker Superintendent D. Joseph Corr said Wednesday in a letter to district families.

"We know that this information may have a profound impact on students and staff," the letter read. "Counseling and support services are available for all members of the school community."

Members of the Bethlehem Police Department are investigating the case with law enforcement agencies in Stockbridge and Lee, and the MSP. Anyone with information is asked to contact the police department at (518) 439-9973.
