While Saturday’s Buddy Walk looked a tad bit different compared to others, the spirit was exactly the same. This year, that actual walk was replaced by a car parade.

The event isn't just about celebration, but strong support, too. It helps raise awareness to those with Down Syndrome.

It's also a national event, being recognized across the U.S. and event Japan.

"With all that's going on, we decided to do the walk virtually. So, people are walking throughout the month of October. But we did want to do some sort of an activity to commemorate the Buddy Walk, and also to celebrate the achievements of individuals with Down Syndrome," Anne Schneider Costigan, Center for Disability Services spokesperson, said.

Donations from the event benefits programs provided by the Down Syndrome Aim High Resource Center.
