The death of Daniel Prude in Rochester has sparked days of protest in the Western New York community.

Now activists in the Capital Region are standing up in solidarity.

Prude died after an encounter with Rochester Police back in March.

Albany organizers are calling for the resignation of Rochester Mayor Lovely Warren. They're also demanding clinical professionals respond to mental health emergencies instead of police.

It was clear at Thursday's rally that people across the state are outraged by this case.

"People can't say that protesting doesn't do anything," said organizer Legacy Casanova. "Protesting does bring change. You just have to believe and keep at it."

Rochester Police Chief La'Ron Singletary announced his retirement this week.
