Heavy rain and wind on Tuesday left many parts of the Capital Region dealing with flood water and power outages.

On Western Avenue, Isaias caused severe flooding. Cars struggled to move through several inches of rain by Stuyvesant Plaza. Police even had to block off sections of Route 20 after a car got stranded.

It was more bad news for businesses in the area.

“Unexpected but it’s definitely not helping businesses right now, especially with everything going on with the coronavirus, especially restaurants,” says Mike Wedderspoon Jacob & Anthony’s general manager.

And on Central Avenue, Albany police officers and sheriff deputies saved several children from a car stranded in the flooded roadway. A number of residents in counties across the region are also without power Tuesday night. The hardest hit include Saratoga, Albany, and Schenectady counties. National grid is working to restore power to some 19,000 homes and businesses in Saratoga County alone.
