A 12-year-old boy in Hoosick Falls is carrying on his annual promise to ensure everyone is able to have a happy holiday.
Hoosick Falls resident Luke Hoag is an alum of the Make-A-Wish program and says he gives back so others fighting various illnesses or circumstances are able to have relief during the season, similar to what he received.
Hoag delivered about 84,000 letters to Santa as part of Macy's National Believe Day. The program donates $2 for every letter they receive on Believe Day and Hoag has now donated more than 200,000 letters to help others.
Hoag says it's all part of making sure everyone can dream big.
"I want to see all the kids that are having issues get their wishes to come true so they don't feel down and they feel happy," Hoag said.
"We're just immensely proud of [Hoag] for what he's done. Paying it forward, he recognizes the value of inspiration and what that meant to him and he wants to be able to make that opportunity possible for other kids," said Will Trigg, ceo Make-A-Wish Northeast N.Y.
Macy's will continue to collect Letters from Santa up until Christmas and will donate $1 to the Make-A-Wish foundation for every letter they receive after Believe Day.
