Albany Mayor Kathy Sheehan is warning people not to drive while snow is falling. She says there will be round the clock plowing in the capital city but that does not mean roads will be safe.

Sheehan was joined by the city's police and fire chiefs, as she laid out Albany's plan for Sunday's storm. Sheehan says a snow emergency has not been implemented and probably will not be until the storm has ended.

She says this is because of the lack of off-street parking available to residents. Sheehan says even if the snow has appeared to slow down, do not drive unless it's necessary. Police Chief Eric Hawkins echoed her warning saying unnecessary driving puts a strain on resources.

City officials say they are well prepared for the storm and will handle it the same way they do every year.
