This week’s Spectrum News Scholar Athlete of the Week is Sarah Rule. Rule is a senior at Ballston Spa High School.

Rule is described as "all-around outstanding student, athlete, leader, and role model." She is enrolled in the International Baccalaureate Program, is a member of the National Honor Society, and plays in Ballston Spa's Symphonic Orchestra.

With sports, Rule has received honorable mentions for all-stars teams in lacrosse and soccer and is a two time recipient of the Jack Sandler Leadership Foundation Scholarship, president of her class, and captain of the soccer team.

Rule also spends her time volunteering with her local youth soccer programs and with the American Diabetes Association - an association close to her because her sister is diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes.

Rule's goal after high school is to join West Point and become a cadet.

Assemblymember Mary Beth Walsh presented the award to Rule at the Friday evening Burnt Hills versus Ballston Spa football game.

Rule will receive a $1,000 scholarship.
