Legal sports betting is set to come to the Capital Region this week.

Rivers Casino in Schenectady is still waiting for the final approval, but is confident its new sports betting lounge will be open for business Tuesday morning.

The newly built lounge includes dozens of TVs, recliners, and betting kiosks.  Visitors will be able to gamble on everything from individual player performances to future Super Bowl winners.

Acting General Manager Justin Moore says this will be a game changer for New York.

"How many years have we gone to Nevada to place our sports wagering bets? Too many," he said. "Also, there is the underground side of sports gambling with bookies and all that. It's finally legal; it's very exciting. It's in our own backyard."

An official ribbon cutting is scheduled for Tuesday at 10 a.m.
