The U.S. Women's National Soccer Team's World Cup championship win Sunday was one many young girls, soccer players, will remember forever.

While the masses were cheering on the team in Albany, the Galuski family in Waterford was having its own celebration. Alexis, Addyson, and Payton Galuski are huge fans of the team.

"We haven't missed one game," Payton said.

The family has artificial turf to practice on in its basement.

"They love the game; they live, eat, and breathe it," said Kory Galuski, the girls' dad and coach.

All three girls — Alexis, 6, Payton, 9, and Addyson, 12 — play soccer. They each have a favorite player.

"Alex Morgan, because she's the best," Alexis said.

Addyson says she likes all the players, but one stands out because even though she's young, she proves she can do it all.

"Mallory Pugh," Addyson said.

For Payton, it's all about who's got the best moves.

"I like [Tobin] Heath the most," Payton said.

The girls say those players offer every day inspiration to them both on and off the field.

"They don't just play for the number on their jersey, they play for the patch," Addyson said. "And each game they go into, they know there's many people watching them, looking up to them and they work hard for us to see how we could be."

And as both dad and coach, Kory's OK with that.

"There's so many life lessons that come out of the game of soccer, [like] teamwork; everything you're gonna use later on in life that is invaluable to a person," Kory said.

He says the team's fight off the field for equal pay in the sport is also an excellent lesson.

"Raising three young daughters, I encourage them to be confident, go out and fight for what you believe in," Kory said. "They're paving the way and they're doing it from a sports side, not a political side or this or that. They have the stage and they're using it right."

The girls, although young, hope to follow in their favorite players' footsteps.

"This inspires me by me wanting to be on that field one day when I'm older," Payton said.

While the girls work on their craft, they're happy for another world championship for at least the next four years.
