Congressman Antonio Delgado is proposing new legislation that would increase transparency when it comes to using PFAS chemicals.

The proposal introduced Thursday would require manufacturers to tell the EPA if they are using PFAS in their products, and the EPA could make that public information.

The law has support from lawmakers on both sides of the aisle, who say these chemicals pose serious concern for water quality and health.

PFOS and PFOA have been found in communities in a number of upstate New York communities, including Hoosick Falls and Newburgh.
