Planned Parenthood leaders, workers, and supporters gathered for a day of action Tuesday in Albany.

Among the hundreds rallying for women’s rights in Albany was Ilana Glazer, the star of popular Comedy Central show "Broad City."

The morning speakers at Planned Parenthood’s Day of Action included leaders like Lt. Governor Kathy Hochul, Attorney General Letitia James and the leaders of both the Senate and Assembly. Glazer, a Long Island native, was the headliner.

Glazer credited her home state as being among the nation’s leaders in the fight for general equality. She and others thanked state lawmakers for passing the Reproductive Care Act earlier this year, which codifies the Roe v. Wade Supreme Court decision and guarantees women in New York the right to abortion, regardless of what happens at the federal level in the future.

Despite the passage of that legislation, Glazer believes the fight is far from over.

"A lot of women’s rights and a lot of the progress that has been made so carefully and so previously for so many years to gain equality for women, people all along the gender identity spectrum, is being quietly and very quickly dismantled," Glazer said.

Other advocates and speakers said they are particularly concerned about efforts at the federal level to reduce funding for Title X, which provides affordable health care and birth control to low-income individuals.
