TSA employees and air traffic controllers are continuing to put in the hours at Albany International Airport for no pay. With the government shutdown, they are working without a paycheck.

Tuesday, actor and pilot Treat Williams showed his appreciation, purchasing free lunch and breakfast for TSA officers and air traffic controllers at Albany International Airport.

Williams says he was in New York City on September 11th, and appreciates the hard work of TSA officers working to prevent another tragedy like that from happening again.

“It was a really bad day and I’d like to thank all the TSA folks because since then we haven’t had that happen again,” said Williams. “That’s an extraordinary thing and I’d also like to say I consider these folks my friends and neighbors. I go all over the country to make movies and television and every time I come they’re friendly they’re kind, even when they pat me down, they’re very nice to me.”

A federal security director says unlike in other airports, TSA employees at Albany International are not calling out and remain dedicated to their job.
