Albany County DA David Soares is set to host his first public meeting on marijuana since announcing a major policy change.

The DA's office will no longer prosecute simple possession cases of amounts less than two ounces, as of the beginning of December.

Soares says in addition to discussing marijuana prosecution, moving forward he will also talk about the options to seal previous criminal convictions for the drug.

When the DA made the announcement in November, he said he was directing his office's efforts to combat the rising heroin and fentanyl crisis.
