Students and faculty at UAlbany are traveling by bus to deliver gifts to children in need. Close to 3,500 toys were collected and distributed to children served by Northern Rivers Family of Services.

The bus made a trip around the UAlbany campus at 10 a.m. to collect the gifts. This effort is part of a larger mission to collect 6,000 gifts for thousands of children in the Capital Region.

Bill Gettman of Northern Rivers Family of Services talked about the children receiving these gifts.

"Kids in foster care, kids who have special needs, kids whose Christmas can be a very traumatic due to past conditions and abuse and neglect. So these gifts will make a special Christmas for 300 to 400 kids," Gettman said.

This marks the 10th year in a row UAlbany made these bus deliveries.
